Hampstead Driveway Gate

In Wooden Gates by jameskelly

Our team of engineers installed a Hampstead Driveway Gate to our clients property near Hampstead Heath in London. The project came through Landcreations, a well established landscaping company. Our client requested the Hampstead Driveway Gate be constructed from Iroko. This is a west African sourced hardwood with similar characteristics to Oak although in our experience Iroko tends to be much more stable.

The Hampstead Driveway Gates were stained with Osmo clear oil to further enhance the appearance. A matching pedestrian gate was supplied and installed.

The Iroko gate was fitted to a custom made support that housed the wheels for the gate to roll across the threshold. Our engineers installed bespoke hinges for the pedestrian gate. The hinges also housed an internal gas closer. This allows the gate to gently close once opened.

Our Project Director specified Beninca sliding automation for the installation. The engineers ensured the motor was correctly installed with all relevant safety equipment. An additional safety feature is the inclusion of a device that prevents the pedestrian gate from opening should the vehicle gate receive a command first.

Our clients requested a video intercom system that linked to their mobile phones. In this instance we supplied and installed a BPT X-Air intercom system. The unit works with the clients internet connection to send a video signal through the wifi to the certain devices.

Additional access control devices were also installed to make the passage through both gates as convenient as possible.
