We were commissioned by our client to supply and install Automatic Wooden House Gates to their premises in Flitton, Bedfordshire. The client opted for a “Shelton” design gate as found in our automatic gate gallery. The fine joinery grade timber gates were constructed in 75mm thick hardwood and are planed and sanded to give the highest possible finish. The leaves are fully dowelled and treated with wood preservatives during construction to ensure that all ends are protected.
The Automatic Wooden House Gates were treated with Osmo oil before being fitted. The automatic gates were installed with fully adjustable hinges to allow for any settlement or movement of the gates or piers in the future. Integral stops were used due to the gradient of the drive. The front and rear internal stops allow the gates to open and close to the same position every time.
We supplied & install an underground gate automation system from Beninca UK to the automatic wooden house gates. The gate automation consisted of two steel foundation boxes, two underground motors, one control board, one infrared safety photocell beam, one safety induction loop, one radio receiver and multiple radio transmitter key fobs. When broken, the infrared safety photocell beam prevents the gates from closing onto a vehicle. This combined with additional safety features such as the built in obstacle detection and pressure sensitive edges to automatically reverse gate travel when an object is contacted ensures that the gates are safe and comply with the appropriate EU and British standards. All of our systems incorporate a simple lever manual override to allow access should you have prolonged power cuts.
A matching pedestrian side gate was installed adjacent to the automatic wooden house gates. The same high level and care of attention was given when installing the pedestrian side gate. A simple manual latch was installed to give a firm closed position.
