Electric Gate Repairs in Hadley Wood

We recently carried out Electric Gate Repairs in Hadley Wood. Our client had two pairs of electric driveway gates. One of the electric gate systems had become so badly worn that the foundation boxes for the motors had severely corroded resulting in the electric gates failing to open and close reliably. So bad was the corrosion that the most cost-effective cause of action was to replace the existing gate automation system with a new Beninca Du350 underground kit.

We carefully removed the existing metal gates so as not to damage them. Any existing control equipment fitted to the gates was delicately removed. Any exposed steel was sanded back, primed and painted to provide protection from the elements.

We removed the old underground gate motors and foundation boxes. We replaced all the existing cabling within conduit and ran the cable back to the location of the new control system. In order to carry out this work it was necessary to lift the block paving across the threshold. We neatly re-laid the paving once the ducts and cables were in place.

The old gate automation system had some safety features, however we ensured the new system complied with the current guidelines as set out by the DHF. Our first task was to make sure the photocells were set within the required distances of the gates. The previous photocells were more than the recommended distance away from the gates, plus the wooden posts that the old photocells were attached to were rotten and needed replacing. New cabling was installed in ducts and run to the safety photocells. Due to the location of the existing top hinges, it was necessary to install slim sensitive edges on the brick piers to prevent someone from being crushed between the gate and the pier.

We had to carry out some fabrication work to the hinges to ensure they lined up with the new gate automation system. All work was carried out by our highly skilled team of electric gate installers. Any new metal used was galvanised and painted to ensure it is free from major structural corrosion for many years.

Once completed, the electric gate repairs in Hadley Wood resulted in a smooth, stable and reliable system for our client.
